Hunting season regulations are a prerequisite for maintaining the population of animals and birds in the regions of Russia. Violation of it entails heavy fines, including loss of license and confiscation of weapons. Therefore, it is necessary to find out in advance when you can hunt in the fall of 2018. But first you need to define the basic concepts.
Hunting seasons
Experienced hunters plan game trips 3-4 months before official permission. Information about this is posted on the Internet resources of the branches of the Ministry of Natural Resources. The maximum permissible volume of production for each type of animal and the cost of a license for the production of limited game are also determined there.
It is important for a hunter to know the following features for the autumn hunting season:
- Duration: from mid-August to November inclusive.
- Temporary division according to certain types of animals. Mandatory compliance with acceptable production standards.
- Timely payment of licenses for limited species of animals. Its size varies from 2,000 rubles (young boar) to 50 thousand rubles (male moose “at roar”).
The rules of the autumn hunting season are determined in each region separately, but taking into account current legislation. In some cases, the timing or amount of allowable harvest may be increased to control the population.
Hunter's calendar
For each type of animal or bird you need to prepare appropriate equipment. The size, permissible degree of damage, and the volume of future production (number of units) are taken into account. For beginners, this is the main problem - improper preparation for the autumn season will cause failure.
You need to decide in advance on the type of production:
- Geese and ducks, upland bird. It can be hunted from August 20 to November 15.
- Badger. Time is limited from August 15 to October 31. Hunting may be prohibited in some regions.
- Wolf, fox, white hare. You can access them from September 15 to the end of February. For wolves, by special order, the season can be extended.
- Boars. From June 1 to the end of December. The exception is females with offspring and young of the year. For them, the season opens on October 1.
- Field game and swamp-meadow game. Hunting with a gun dog is permitted from August 5 to mid-November.
These are approximate dates; exact times should be checked with local offices of the Ministry of Natural Resources. There you can also find out the permitted hunting areas.
August
The best time for sport hunting with a gun dog. Peculiarities - good orientation in the area is required, you need to walk a lot, know the habits of the bird. Special requirements for shooting skill. By the end of the season, the birds become extremely timid and leave their homes at the slightest danger.
An alternative to a gun dog is to “trample” the bird. However, this method is ineffective in terms of production volume and is used only for sporting purposes. It is not suitable for a beginner.
September
Beginning of hunting upland bird species: capercaillie, black grouse. The best time is mid-September. At this time, the birds are not yet so timid, they readily respond to bait, and rarely change their roosting and feeding places. Shooting hazel grouse is also possible, although experienced hunters prefer larger trophies.
At the same time, the hare hunt begins. In popularity it is comparable only to duck. The place of fishing is fields or an area near a forest. Due to the specific behavior and color, finding a hare in dense thicket is problematic.
October
The most desirable season for many hunters is beginning - bear hunts are allowed. The best method is to arrange a storage shed. You must first purchase a license. Requirements – correct calculation of the cartridge (), selection of the optimal location. Bears are sensitive to foreign odors and are very careful.
The permitted shooting of large animals also begins: wild boar, elk, deer. It is important to comply with the current regulations and follow the rules. Thus, it is strictly prohibited to kill a female bear that has cubs.
November
In the final month of the autumn hunting season, round-up hunting of ungulates - elk, roe deer, wild boar - will gain popularity. This is done when forming a snow cover for orientation around the area. It is important to prevent the appearance of a wounded animal that would escape from the hunters. In the future, such an animal, especially a bear or wild boar, will become a serious danger to people.
The video shows an example of proper game harvesting in compliance with hunting deadlines. In 2018, it is recommended to follow the same rules.
Millions of hunters from Russia have been worrying for years now, awaiting a decision from the relevant authorities. Rumors have been circulating in society for a long time about the closure of the spring hunt, so many people are concerned about this topic.
Will people be allowed to go hunting this year like they did last year? The answer to this question is already on the surface and there is not the slightest doubt that hunting in spring 2017 be.
Now you can calmly exhale and start preparing for the new season. Start equipping your cartridges, stock up on all the necessary equipment, analyze all the mistakes of past seasons in order to prevent them in the new one.
This hunt has a number of goose hunting supporters who are eagerly awaiting the opening to gain new experiences and try out recently purchased decoys and decoys, as well as brand new guns.
Many people want to go hunting for drake mallards, woodcock, black grouse and wood grouse. Is it possible to hunt them this year, and according to what rules? Now let's look at all the details and nuances of this hunt.
Hunting rules and terms in spring 2017
As for the rules of spring hunting themselves, there will not be anything super new here, but it is still worth recalling the main prohibitions that apply during this period.
Any self-catchers that can be used for spring game bird hunting are prohibited. Electronic devices that produce sounds similar to those emanating from wild animals should not be used.
When hunting, boats can only be used to collect hunted game, but it is prohibited to use them to search, track, pursue or catch the game itself.
It is illegal to conduct a spring woodcock hunt during the morning draft. You can use this approach method on this hunt only when hunting wood grouse during the current. You cannot hunt greylag geese in spring.
The use of hunting birds for game birds during this period is prohibited, but hunting dogs can only be used as gundogs to search for wounded birds or retrieve already killed game.
It is prohibited to hunt female ducks, wood grouse and black grouse. Hunting for coot, hazel grouse, and moorhen is also prohibited. Let me remind you once again that hunting greylag goose in spring is prohibited, so be very careful.
The dates for which the spring hunt of 2017 opens are regulated by a specific order. For some regions, the opening date is clearly defined, but some areas of the country do not have such certainty, since the connection depends on the weather.
The hunting period in the spring will last for 10 calendar days. As for specific dates, there are slight changes compared to those that were last year.
For example, in the Kaliningrad region, hunting in the spring is planned to take place from March 15 to March 24. The Moscow region will open its doors to hunters from April 15 to 24, the Republic of Adygea from March 11 to 20.
In the Republic of Bashkortostan it will be possible to hunt from April 22 to May 1, but the Republic of Dagestan and the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic are happy to welcome hunters from March 1 to 10.
In the Republic of Kalmykia, spring hunting dates range from March 11 to March 20. In the Stavropol Territory you can hunt white-fronted goose, mallard drake and woodcock from March 11 to 20.
The timing of this year's hunt in all other regions of Russia remains the same as it was last season.
Hunting 2018 - when, where and who to hunt in 2018 22.08.2017 17:03
People who revere law and order are increasingly taking to the hunting path, while rangers and hunting inspectors still have to wage a real war against poachers who grossly violate hunting rules.
Hunter's calendar for 2018. When and who to hunt
Not only do they mercilessly destroy animals, violating the laws of nature, such hunters endanger those around them, since most of them have no idea what the rules of hunting are, but also when they can hunt.
Hunting for animals throughout the year occurs in 3 periods:
- Spring - Spring hunting of game is the shortest and lasts only 10 calendar days.
- Summer-autumn - its duration is a little more than three months. This is the longest of all hunting periods.
- Winter - hunting in winter is allowed for 30 days.
Each period involves shooting a certain type of animal. In regions, hunting dates may shift somewhat, and animals that cause harm may be shot throughout the entire period. Crows, foxes, and wolves fall under this category. But even in this case, special permission is required to shoot them.
Spring hunting season 2018
The spring hunting season opens in Russia from the beginning of March and ends in mid-June - the exact dates are regulated in each region individually and the spring hunt lasts ten days.
Hunting for goose and woodcock is prohibited this year. Geese and woodcock are often shot in the tens of thousands, so if action is not taken this season, in 5-7 years you may be left without any game at all.
The specificity of spring shooting is the prohibition of shooting females. During this period, only males of certain birds are allowed to be shot for a few days. Prohibited measures are related to concerns about preserving and increasing the number of animals.
For example, hunting geese in the spring is prohibited, since there is a high probability of shooting a goose. Geese are practically indistinguishable from geese in plumage and habits.
Shooting at wood waders is prohibited. They instantly fly out from under the hunter’s feet and it is very difficult to distinguish a female from a male in a matter of seconds.
In the spring, you cannot hunt partridge and hazel grouse, despite the fact that the color of the cockerels is different from the females. The fact is that males actively participate in raising their offspring.
Shooting at flocks of ducks is prohibited. The probability of shooting a female is very high.
Summer-autumn hunting season
Many people look forward to the opening of the summer-autumn period, and this is marked by hunting for waterfowl and swamp game. No one has canceled the tradition: everyone is waiting and preparing for the second Saturday of August - this is the beginning of the hunt. In different parts of the country, shooting dates may shift slightly in one direction or another.
In autumn, hunting for wild geese, snipe, and corncrake is allowed. Interesting and exciting shooting of quail in the summer-autumn period. It begins immediately after the wheat is harvested from the fields. In some regions, at the end of this hunting period, it is allowed to shoot a hare.
Fans of hunting ungulates also unsheath their guns. At the end of the season, shooting at elk, wild boar, deer and roe deer is allowed in a number of regions. Usually they go after the trophy through the first snow. Shooting of raccoon, badger and fox is allowed.
Winter hunting season
The most favorable time for shooting fur-bearing animals. The hunt for artiodactyls does not stop. In winter in 2018, it is allowed to shoot squirrel and marten.
What animal can you hunt during the year?
The hunter's calendar for 2017-2018 is divided according to the shooting of animals and the timing of harvest. There are certain restrictions on shooting of one type or another.
- Hunting for wild boar, red and sika deer is permitted from mid-2018 to the end of the year.
- You can shoot elk from the first days of November to the end of December.
- Fallow deer are hunted from mid-September to December inclusive.

- All fur animals can be shot in November and December. The 2018 hunting calendar allows marmot hunting from July to the end of September.
- You can hunt a brown bear from April 1 to May 31 and from August 1 to November 30, and a Himalayan (white-breasted) bear: from August 1 to November 30.
The hunting year is full of various types of shooting wild animals. You need to carefully prepare for every hunting trip. The preparatory process includes checking documents, preparing weapons and inspecting camouflage.
The calendar forces not only hunters to prepare for the opening of the season, but also farms that receive long-awaited guests. Knowing the calendar and observing it is the business of everyone who took up arms and went hunting.
Organizing a hunt is a difficult task, because the future of our children and future generations is at stake, and the authorized bodies must take into account many factors, including the characteristics of a particular region.
In this regard, the government decided that the governor of the region or region should set the dates of the hunt and approve other parameters of the upcoming hunt. This means that in different regions the timing of hunting may differ significantly, while regional authorities themselves can introduce shooting standards and determine the types and methods of hunting.
