"Gyroscope Ball") is a unique gyroscopic wrist trainer, expander for men and women, for children and adults, as well as an excellent accessory for entertainment! It makes it easy to train your arm muscles and improve your own dexterity, without tedious and long workouts.
Recently, the Gyroscope Bol hand trainer has been in great demand among representatives of various professions. The secret of such popularity is the effective training of the muscles of the hand, forearm and shoulder with the help of just one such device. A small ball weighing 250-300 grams. capable of creating a force load from 3 to 20 kg! Daily exciting exercises with a wrist trainer increase arm endurance, relieve joint pain, and help to quickly rehabilitate after injuries and operations. It is not surprising that professional athletes, musicians and representatives of professions associated with heavy physical activity are in a hurry to buy a Gyroscope Ball (Powerball). It will also be useful for people whose work involves working on a computer.
Watch the video:
The hand trainer is a sphere made of durable transparent plastic with a silicone rim. Inside the sphere there is a gyroscope (built-in rotor), the rotation of which is started using special laces or untwisted with your fingers. During the training process, you need to increase the speed of rotation of the sphere, while simultaneously holding it in your hand, and overcome the resistance of the simulator. The unique operating principle provides a tangible effect from training with the simulator.
Just three to five minutes of intense rotation will easily replace those iron pounds in the gym. At the same time, there is no dangerous load on the joints: there is no need to lift weights, therefore, no pulled tendons or other injuries. In addition, the gyroscopic wrist trainer is especially convenient in conditions of small space and lack of free time: standing in a traffic jam, watching the news or favorite programs, and even doing household chores - make the most of this time! And the Gyroscope Bol itself fits into a pocket or handbag without any problems.
Another incomparable advantage of such a simulator is its visual appeal. Imagine what others would think of a person who came to the office or club with dumbbells! But with Gyroscope Bol, the effect will be radically opposite: it will attract interest to its owner and involve everyone in the training process, during which you can even hold a competition and determine the strongest and most skillful participant.
Application:
- Insert the supplied string into the groove of the inner ball of the gyroscopic trainer, wrap it around the inner ball and pull the string sharply. Place the device in your hand and rotate it, increasing the speed of the gyroscope.
Be careful! The wrist expander rotates very quickly, do not stop it with your hands.
Once you start working, the “Gyroscope Ball” will literally “come to life” in your hands and begin to break out in different directions. Your task is to increase the speed of its rotation while simultaneously holding it in your hands.
Exercises with a gyroscopic hand trainer.
There are several fundamentally different ways to train with gyroscopic trainers.
Let's look at several videos demonstrating different muscle groups that work when training with a wrist trainer.
In each of these exercises, the faster the rotor rotates, the more resistance is created inside the ball, and the harder your muscles must work - thus creating a more intense workout!
If you are new to gyroscopic exercises, we recommend starting the exercises slowly and avoiding rapid rotation at the very beginning. Regardless of your general physical fitness.
Finger and grip strength training.
Hold the gyroscopic trainer only with your fingertips. This way you exercise the muscles of your fingers without the risk of overtraining them. This is because as you apply less force, the rotor slows down and the load and power are reduced. This type of training is very effective for rock climbers, mountain bikers, and pianists. Indispensable for people professionally involved in massage.
Wrist training.
Hold the gyroscopic wrist trainer firmly in your hand and increase the speed as you rotate your wrist. This is a good workout for your coordination. Repeat this exercise clockwise, then counterclockwise. Do the same with the other hand. After a long period of rest due to injury, you can improve the mobility of your wrist. This training is very useful in any sport where strong wrists are important: tennis, hockey, cycling, golf. It is also a good exercise for recovery after any type of injury or carpal tunnel syndrome. Carpal tunnel syndrome is a painful sensation in the wrist that occurs after working on a keyboard or typewriter for a long time.
Lower forearm workout
Accelerate the rotor while trying to hold the hand firmly and firmly. Now the force will automatically come from the muscles of your lower forearm. You will even see the muscles working and moving. A gyroscopic trainer is the best training device for improving the functioning of the muscles of the lower forearm. This is the best way to warm up your muscles before starting your main sports activities. Even if you exercise for a short time, you will feel warmth in your hands. Regular training with the simulator prevents inflammatory diseases in the elbow joints (epicondylitis, or tennis elbow).
Exercises for triceps arms.
Extend your arm and rotate the back of your forearm inward and slightly forward. Speed up the ball. You will feel your triceps working. This exercise is suitable for those sports where strong upper arm muscles are important: tennis, rowing, rock climbing.
Arm biceps exercises.
Accelerate the rotor while holding the gyroscopic trainer at the top, as you see in the picture. You will feel the muscles in your upper arm begin to work. This exercise is great for sports where the biceps play an important role, such as rock climbing, tennis, rowing and many others.
Shoulder exercises.
Extend your arm to the side and speed up the rotation. This exercise can relieve shoulder pain, and you will feel a real effect all the way down to your neck. The only thing that is true in all exercises is that in order to speed up the gyroscopic trainer and maintain the rotation speed, you must feel the ball. This helps a lot with concentration and you will improve your body's sense of self.

Hand trainers were in high demand at the end of the last century. However, at that time they were a rubber ring or an expanding expander in the form of two handles, elastically connected by a spring.
Thanks to the use of innovative technological and design solutions, modern hand exercisers have become more advanced. The greatest interest among consumers is a device for training the hand, known as the Powerball.
What is a Powerball wrist trainer?
Externally, the device looks like a small ball that fits easily in your hand. It has quite a noticeable weight. However, it is difficult to hold the device in your hands not for this reason, but primarily because of the special mobility of the internal mechanism, which forces the hand muscles to be in constant tone.
The Powerball hand trainer is suitable for users who want to improve not only their grip strength, but also their dexterity. Handling the simulator turns into an extremely exciting experience every time. Indeed, in practice it turns out to be quite difficult to pacify a ball, the inner content of which constantly strives to break free. And the more effort the user makes, the more the device vibrates.
Principle of operation
The NSD Power hand trainer is surprisingly simple. In fact, the device is nothing more than an ordinary gyroscope sealed in a plastic shell. The kit includes a special cord, with the help of which the internal mechanism is activated. During training, the user has to dampen the increasing vibrations of the rotor by rotating the hand gyroscopic trainer in different directions.
The device does not require an energy source to operate. The device is operated only by hand force.
Areas of use
Hand exercisers provide an excellent opportunity to perform effective exercises without leaving your workplace. Therefore, devices in this category are in the highest demand among office workers. However, the device is successfully used by people who need comprehensive strengthening of their hands and, in particular, increased finger tenacity.
Just like a regular exercise machine, it prevents the development of pain as a result of regular compression of the carpal nerves. And this is a consequence of prolonged low activity of the motor system.
Hand trainers contribute to the rehabilitation of athletes who do not have access to training for a long time due to injuries. That is why the use of such devices is recommended by doctors for people who are at the recovery stage.
Features of operation
Having received the simulator, many users wonder about its correct use. Naturally, first you need to start the internal mechanism. There are several ways to do this. You can activate the gyroscope either using a cord or by moving your fingers.
Starting the simulator with a cord is as follows:
- The rope is placed in a special hole on the device body.
- The cord is stretched and wound parallel to the rotor.
- The machine rotates slowly.
- Winding of the lace stops when about 5 centimeters of its length remain free.
- The ball is placed in the palm of your hand and launched by sharply pulling the string.
If the exact sequence of actions is followed, the internal mechanism begins to rotate at speeds of up to 3000 rpm. Next, it is enough to move the machine to a position in which the rotor will “look” down, and you can begin training, performing rhythmic movements with the hand.
During operation of the device, it is important to leave the forearm motionless, shifting the main load to the fingers. At first, do not perform too intense movements. The optimal rotation speed is about one revolution per second. This approach will allow you to better feel the movements of the rotor. If the rotation is performed incorrectly, the mechanism will begin to emit an unpleasant buzzing sound.
Accessories
As with other devices that are widely popular in the market, Powerball hand trainers come with several useful accessories to make them easier to use.
Of particular interest are all kinds of stylish straps, which differ in design and individual color schemes. With their help, it is much more convenient to wear the exercise machine on your wrist, starting training at any free moment.
The manufacturer has released another popular accessory that allows you to perform exercises on your legs, known as a “foot trainer.” The design makes it possible to start the device without using hands or a cord. At the same time, such a useful addition can be used as a stand.
Advantages and disadvantages
Each device has its pros and cons. Powerball is no exception. The advantages of the device include:
- Intensive strengthening of the wrist and hand muscles.
- High efficiency of the training process.
- Ability to quickly recover from injuries.
- Reliable design and long service life.
- Autonomy of work.
As for the disadvantages of the device, it is worth noting the relatively high cost, which makes the simulator accessible to a limited number of interested buyers. Among other things, most users initially experience some pain, which gradually disappears as the device is used.
The powerball trainer is an effective device that will allow you to easily fully pump up your arm muscles. A special feature of powerball training is the use of human strength to create and maintain a load on the muscles while rotating this sports ball.
Powerball Components
Powerball for hands is more than compact. Its components:
- A rotor is an element that rotates around its own axis and perpendicular to the plane of rotation of this axis along a circular groove-groove.
- The housing is a rotor covering consisting of two halves held in place by screws or latches. The function of the housing is to hold the rotor axis in the groove.
- Restriction ring - holds the rotor axle in a diametrical position, preventing it from crashing into the circular groove. It rotates with the rotor.
It’s worth noting that you don’t have to spend money on a charger or batteries to practice. The device works only by hand strength.
Benefits of use
The Powerball hand exercise machine is a revolutionary invention for maintaining the tone of all the muscles of the upper limbs. As soon as you take it in your hand, you will feel serious resistance. The more actively you spin the device, the more force you will have to apply to hold it. It is difficult to overestimate its benefits:
- suitable for all age categories;
- it is impossible for them to get injured;
- indispensable for athletes (climbers, tennis players, boxers);
- useful for musicians (pianists, saxophonists);
- pumps up the forearms and increases the flexibility of the hands;
- applicable after injuries to accelerate the restoration of joint mobility;
- a powerball will help you get rid of painful sensations in the hands (tunnel syndrome), which often occurs due to prolonged work with a computer;
- The expander takes up minimal space and can easily fit in a woman’s purse or pocket.
What are the features of training with powerball?
The operating principle of the “gadget” is based only on the laws of physics. Inside the ball there is a gyroscope, which is launched at the beginning of friction using the included string or finger.
- From the moment you start the machine, it begins to rotate in the opposite direction from the movement of your hand. The stronger the movement of the device, the more difficult it is to hold it.
- You can conduct powerball classes anywhere. You can rotate your limb with a ball clamped in it at home, in the gym or on the subway.
- By applying force when rotating the expander, it begins to rotate around a certain axis that differs from the main axis of the rotor. In this case, a centrifugal force arises, as if trying to tear the ball out of your hands.
- Powerball arm trainers are designed in such a way that sometimes a force of one kilogram to 15 kg must be applied to continue the rotation.
How to start the device at the beginning of work
Perhaps the first launch will confuse you, but it’s a matter of time to get the hang of it.
- Insert the tip of the cord into the rotor hole, rotating the rotor with your thumb, wind the cord onto it so tightly that there is no slack left.
- When you have 4-5 cm of cord left in your hands, stop winding and take the device in your brush so that the thread is at the top. Pull sharply on the free end of the thread. The device will start moving at a speed of 3000 revolutions.
You can also wind the device with your thumbs, turning the rotor. In total you will have to make three full turns while holding it. Release your finger with a sharp movement, then the device will begin to move.
Safety regulations
To be safe, try to adhere to the following rules when handling a powerball.
- If you suffer from heart failure or any other heart disease, avoid exercising.
- You cannot touch a moving element.
- Try not to drop or throw the device, as heavy filling can damage the inner shell of the “device”.
- To train correctly, avoid contaminating the ball and ensuring that no oily grease or liquid gets inside.
- Firmly hold the powerball in your palm while training. If it slips out of your hand and falls, it may not break, but a “knocking” sound will certainly appear.
Exercises with the Powerball wrist expander
If you have not yet encountered resistance band training, we strongly recommend starting rotations with low speeds and simple rotations. We recommend several exercise options to work different muscle groups.
- For grip and finger strength. Grip the Powerball gyroscopic wrist expander only with the tips of all your fingers. Activate the mechanism, and then use the clamped ball to make circular movements in any direction with a small trajectory. This will give you practice without overworking them. This is because when the applied rotational forces decrease, the rotor slows down, and with it the load. During the process, the direction of rotation and the hand must be changed periodically.
- For working out the wrist. Firmly grasp the machine with your whole hand. Make rotational movements by bending the limb at the wrist. Try to increase the speed when spinning. Make movements both clockwise and counterclockwise. This workout is ideal for combating carpal tunnel syndrome and for developing injured wrists.
- For the lower forearm. Hold the expander in your hand, make rotational movements with your entire limb from the elbow to the fingers, while fixing the hand. You will see firsthand how the muscles of the forearm move. This exercise can be an excellent initial warm-up before major physical activity.
- To work the triceps. Stretch the limb by slightly rotating the back of the forearm inward. Rotate your hand in a small amplitude, feeling how the muscles tense. This type of training is suitable for rowers and tennis players.
- For biceps. Extend your arm to the side, bending your elbow down. Squeeze the rotor, rotating it with a small amplitude, constantly increasing the tempo. Work in the mode that is convenient for you, do not try to start at a fast pace. This exercise pumps up the biceps, which is very convenient for both athletes and office clerks.
- For the shoulder girdle. Stretch the limb to the side, holding the expander in your hand. Rotate your arm with the exercise machine without bending it at the elbow. You will feel a warming sensation in your muscles all the way up to your neck.
Currently, a huge number of people, if not yet, are susceptible to the so-called carpal tunnel syndrome. The risk group includes people of various professions and hobbies, for example, drivers, artists, photographers and, of course, people who work a lot on the computer; they are the most susceptible to this disease. In the advanced stage of CTS (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome), hospital treatment may be required, including surgery (a special operation to remove excess fluid from the joints). Well, the best way to solve a problem is to never encounter it. To do this, you need to engage in prevention through warm-up or specialized devices, such as a gyroscopic simulator.
Today I will talk about 3 Powerball models - Classic, Fusion and Autostart. These are some of the most popular models at the moment. They can also cover the entire line of hand exercisers, with the exception of metal devices. Read more below the cut.
Packaging and equipment
The Powerball Classic and Fusion models come in blister packs, while the Autostart model comes in a clear plastic cylinder-shaped case.On the reverse side of the “blister” packages are instructions for starting the exercise machine and a photo of a man who pumped up his bicep with a gyroscopic exercise machine with designated muscle groups that are affected by the Powerball.
But the most interesting thing is the packaging of the Autostart model. First, to open it, you need to remove the bottom of the flask, on which there is a Mini-CD (23 MB) with detailed instructions (Russian available) in the form of an HTML page.
Actually, the “interestingness” lies in the practicality of this box. By detaching the upper part of transparent plastic, the lower one turns into a stand for Powerball, which, as it turns out, is an extremely convenient and necessary thing, since due to their round shape, dcoder_mm “power balls” often like to roll off the table.
The delivery set for the Classic and Fusion models consists of the simulators themselves, brief instructions, a Mini-CD and a pair of laces for launching the device. Accordingly, Powerball Autostart has everything the same except for the laces.
Each device comes with a lifetime (!) warranty on the rotor and speed counter. Moreover, in the event of a breakdown, repairs are promised within 14 working days or replacement of the product.
Appearance
Externally, a gyroscopic simulator is a small spherical object. In most cases, the body is made of thick plastic of various colors and degrees of transparency. There are also metal models, but they are positioned as devices for advanced users, and accordingly their price is higher. In the upper part there is a revolution counter or a seat for it, since there are models on sale both with and without a speed counter. The price difference for the younger models is around $20. In any case, even if you initially purchase a model without a meter, you can install it at any time. Business there for 5 minutes, except that you have to overpay a little and pay not 20, but 25 dollars.
Due to the open lower part, you can see the “bare” rotor. The latter has a hole for the thread with which the simulator is launched. Additionally, the Powerball body is framed with a rubber pad for a more secure hold in the hand.
An exception is the Autostart model, to start which you need to “wind up” the rotor, and for better grip with your fingers, two rubber pads are provided.
It's also worth mentioning the backlight. In these simulators it can be called dynamic, since the brightness of the glow changes depending on the speed of rotation of the rotor. Most of the models in the Powerball line have a single-color glow, with the exception of one of the heroes of our today's review - Powerball Fusion. The color of its glow changes smoothly from red to blue as the RPM increases. The transition to blue occurs when the speed reaches 8000 rpm.
Operating principle and guts
The principle of operation of the subject is quite simple. The device is based on a gyroscope, consisting of a rapidly spinning rotor enclosed in a plastic sphere. You can set the rotor in motion using the special rope included in the kit, then you need to make circular movements with your hand to increase the speed of the rotor. The exercise machine must be held firmly in your hand during use, as the forces of action will try to deflect it in different directions. When a constant external force is applied to the gyroscope, it begins to rotate around a certain axis that does not coincide in direction with the main axis of the rotating rotor, that is, to precess. In this case, the rotation does not occur in accordance with the direction of the external force. The magnitude of precession is proportional to the magnitude of the acting force. If the external influence ceases, the precession ends instantly, but the rotor continues to rotate.
Once the rotor is started, tilting the device will cause one end of the axle to move along the top side of the groove and the other end along the bottom. When the axis of the rotating rotor comes into contact with the top and bottom surface of the groove, it causes precession and the rotor axis will begin to move in a circular motion along it. The frictional force between the axis and the groove surface can either speed up or slow down the rotation of the gyroscope. The greatest acceleration is achieved when the rotor axis begins to “slide” along the groove surface as smoothly as possible. Since friction is very important for this effect, the device should never be lubricated. The maximum rotation speed of the rotor is achieved by holding the sphere in your hand and constantly maintaining rotation with the movement of your hand.
A more detailed physical principle of operation of Powerball can be found on Wikipedia, and we move on to analyzing the device. First you need to remove the rubber pad.
Then unscrew the two diametrically opposed Phillips screws.
Next we need to disassemble the body, which consists of two halves. To do this, place the Powerball on a hard, flat surface (as shown in the picture below) and naturally hit the seam sharply. As a result, the halves should separate.
If that doesn’t work, try pressing a hard-cover book on it; under the load, the parts of the case should bend a little and separate accordingly. The only thing I don’t recommend is “picking” the seam with a screwdriver or other metal objects. If you take it apart, you will be able to take it apart, but it will most likely leave unpleasant marks and dents, like mine:
So, the rotor, or part of it, appeared before us. We no longer need the lower half, so we remove it and take out the rotor from the top of the housing.
By the way, about the upper part of the case, a speed sensor is located in it (optionally). To get it out, you need to use a flat screwdriver to pry off the latch with which it is secured.
The lower part of the board is pristinely empty, only a couple of unsoldered pads for additional components are visible. To get to the reverse side, you need to unscrew 6 small screws, one of which is hidden under the sticker.
On the top part: a “blot microcircuit”, a reed switch (counts revolutions) and all the necessary wiring. The electronics are powered by two GP377 size batteries from which the meter, according to the manufacturer, will operate for up to 2 years.
We continue disassembly and remove the circular groove from the gyroscope axis. And be careful here. There are sealing gaskets on both sides, which tend to get lost due to their small size.
The rotor consists of 4 parts: an axis, a metal base, a plastic shell and a board with LEDs (if the model has backlighting).
The backlight is powered by a built-in dynamo, so no batteries are needed.
The internal structure of other models is identical to the one we discussed above. The only exceptions are metal Powerballs and the Autostart version, which has a special mechanism for starting the rotor.
Fast start
Launching the simulator is extremely simple. All you need to do is insert the supplied rope into the groove on the rotor, then pull it out with a sharp movement, thereby giving rotation to the rotor. Next, simply spin the Powerball with slow circular movements with your hand (namely, your hand). The main thing is not to start with quick short movements of the wrist, otherwise you will not be able to catch the rhythm, and it will be difficult to spin the ball correctly. In the video below, I was a little worried, so the start was, let's say, not ideal. With Powerball Autostart it's even easier. To start the simulator, you need to “wind” the rotor in the direction indicated by the arrows on it. Then untwist according to the same pattern as the previous “ball”.
For conventional models, there is another way - starting the rotor with a sharp movement of your finger along the rotor axis, but here you need to get the hang of it. Even after two weeks of active use, I don’t always succeed.
In use
Carpal tunnel syndrome is a damage to nerve tissue (neuropathy) due to certain unfavorable conditions. Unfavorable conditions can be very different - usually it is monotonous work of the hand or prolonged exposure to unnatural positions. This topic has already been discussed several times on Habrahabr. I strongly recommend that you familiarize yourself with the works of my colleague vvzvlad and habrauser stavor, both in the first and in the second this disease is thoroughly analyzed, as well as methods of its prevention. In general, the scope of Powerball applications is quite extensive and is not limited to CTS prevention alone. It can also be used to restore damaged ligaments and tendons after hand injuries, dislocations and fractures. In such cases, it is recommended to spin the Powerball literally a few minutes a day, but in such a way that its built-in rotor operates at a limited speed, that is, no more than 5-6 thousand revolutions per minute.
But the application possibilities do not end there. “Balls” equipped with counters give people the opportunity to compete to see who can win the most. Thus, the mandatory warm-up also becomes exciting. Moreover, the presence of an opponent nearby is not required. On the official website of NSD (Powerball manufacturer) there is a special table in which records from all over the world are entered (representatives of the CIS countries are also present there).
Now regarding the operating modes of the counter. There are 5 of them in total. Switching is done using the FCN button, and turning on and resetting using ON/CLR. In the first mode, the number of rotor revolutions that it performed from the last start until the moment it stopped is counted.
The second mode is responsible for measuring speed (RPM per minute) in real time.
The third and most commonly used mode is displaying the maximum RPM (High score), i.e. This setting records your score and displays it until you reach a higher score or reset it using the ON/CLR button. As soon as you start to rotate the simulator, the counter automatically switches to the fourth mode (New high score) - the counter shows the highest rotation speed achieved since the last start. If you have exceeded your previous record since your last start, the number on the counter will flash and the new record will be stored in memory as soon as the rotor stops spinning. If your current score is less than the record, it will be shown on the screen until the rotor stops, after which the High score mode will turn on again.
And finally, the last setting is measuring the force index, its essence is to count the number of revolutions completed over a certain period of time (30, 60 and 90 seconds). A great way to test your pussy strength (endurance?) with a friend.
The display turns off on its own after 40 seconds of inactivity.
Speaking about records, it is worth mentioning one of the most seasoned “twists”. The Greek Akis Kritsinelis is an absolute record holder in all possible modes and types of use of the gyroscopic simulator. For example, the maximum speed to which he was able to accelerate the Powerball was 16765 RPM. The video below confirms this; other records are also captured on the channel. Well, I already gave a link to the table with record holders above.
Results
Thanks to the Blog (ours, Box Overview), at 16 I don’t feel anywhere near the symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome, but that doesn’t mean I can relax. I spend a lot of time at the computer and this situation is unlikely to change in the near future, so prevention is not something that can be done, it needs to be done. How to do this is up to you. I chose the Powerball and now periodically spin it alternating with other exercises. I settled on the Autostart model because of the convenient stand and the very possibility of easy starting. So I highly recommend purchasing!Price
The price of Powerball is very affordable. So for the youngest Classic model you need to pay ~27$, for the Autostart model 60$, and the model with Fusion glow will cost you ~70$. But the range does not end there; the official distributor of Powerball in Ukraine is BoxOverview.comNEW

What is a gyroscopic hand trainer Power Ball HG3238
The Power Ball gyroscopic hand trainer is the latest invention for developing arm muscles. As soon as you take the Power Ball gyroscopic hand trainer in your hands, it immediately begins to provide you with serious resistance. The faster you spin the device, the more force you need to apply to hold it.
The Power Ball gyroscopic hand trainer can be used by everyone: children, women, men and even the elderly. You are able to dose your own load; it is impossible to harm yourself with training!
How is this simulator useful?
This gyroscopic hand simulator Power Ball is successfully used to develop hands by both athletes (tennis players, boxers, climbers, cyclists) and musicians (guitarists, pianists, saxophonists), as well as all those who want to pump up their forearms, increase arm strength and flexibility of the hands.
The hand trainer is very useful for musicians.
The gyroscopic hand trainer can also be used to recover from injuries, as it makes it possible to perfectly develop your arms.
Also, the gyroscopic hand trainer allows you to get rid of pain in the hands, the so-called tunnel syndrome (an occupational disease of those who spend a lot of time in front of the computer).
Features of training with a simulator
So how does the miracle gyroscopic hand trainer Power Ball HG3238 work? Everything is very simple. In the middle of the simulator there is a gyroscope, which you launch using your finger or cord.
As soon as the machine is started, the gyroscope begins to work in the opposite direction, creating strong pressure on the hand. The more the machine spins, the more difficult it becomes to hold it. The sensations are simply unforgettable: the thirst to conquer the naughty ball, the excitement makes training a fun, invisible and very useful game.
You can train with the Power Ball gyroscopic hand trainer anywhere and anytime: in the subway or on the road, at school or in the office, at home or in the gym! You don’t need a lot of space to practice, and the POWERBALL itself fits into your pocket or handbag without any problems.
World famous hand trainer. Gyroscopic wrist trainer - a trainer the size of an apple. This simulator allows you to work out your arms, but not with the banal “eights” and “waves through crossing your fingers,” but with additional physical activity: this baby has a total weight of up to 200 grams. capable of resisting with a force equivalent to a mass of up to 15 kg!
This is where consciousness begins to argue with the laws of physics: No, this is NOT science fiction. This is a fitness toy. By performing exercises with the simulator, you can improve the strength and tenacity of your fingers, train the strength of your hand, shoulder and forearm.
In the middle there is a rotor that activates a gyroscope: the inside of the simulator rotates in different planes.
The operation of this simulator is based on the principle of a mechanical gyroscope.
If some force is applied to the gyroscope (in this case, rotation with a hand), it will begin to rotate around a certain axis that does not coincide with the main axis of rotation of the internal rotor. At the same time, a certain centrifugal force arises, trying to tear it out of your hands.
And you will have to resist this force, holding the Powerball tightly in your hand. Rotation speed of the internal rotor is up to 15,000 rpm. The compactness of this device makes it easy to always have it with you.
To start and operate, you only need a regular cord (included). Wind it around the axle, pull it with a sharp movement and the rotor has already received the initial acceleration. Then, using smooth movements of the hand, slowly rotate the Powerball, gradually accelerating the movement.
To maintain this movement, you need to apply force - from small to equal to 15 kg. It is transmitted from the hand to the muscles of the forearm, biceps and triceps. It is this basic property that is appreciated by people who often have to lead an office lifestyle, where body movements are limited only to dragging the mouse across the rug and typing keys. You can spend just a few minutes a day strengthening your arm muscles.
ATTENTION! Causes exercise addiction! As soon as he comes into view, does a hand immediately follow him? Give it a place near the monitor or on the bedside table, and the workout itself will turn into a regular one.

To start the gyroscopic hand trainer, you can use the supplied cord (boat engine principle).
Exercises with a gyroscopic hand trainer
There are several fundamentally different ways to train with gyroscopic trainers.
Let's look at several videos demonstrating different muscle groups that work when training with a wrist trainer.
In each of these exercises, the faster the rotor rotates, the more resistance is created inside the ball, and the harder your muscles must work - thus creating a more intense workout!
If you are new to gyroscopic exercises, we recommend starting the exercises slowly and avoiding rapid rotation at the very beginning. Regardless of your general physical fitness.
Hold the machine only with your fingertips. This way you exercise the muscles of your fingers without the risk of overtraining them.
This is because as you apply less force, the rotor slows down and the load and power are reduced.
This type of training is very effective for rock climbers, mountain bikers, and pianists. Indispensable for people professionally involved in massage.
Wrist workout
Exercises for triceps arms
Extend your arm and rotate the back of your forearm inward and slightly forward. Speed up the ball. You will feel your triceps working. This exercise is suitable for those sports where strong upper arm muscles are important: tennis, rowing, rock climbing.
Arm biceps exercises
Accelerate the rotor while holding the gyroscopic trainer at the top, as you see in the picture. You will feel the muscles in your upper arm begin to work. This exercise is great for sports where the biceps play an important role, such as rock climbing, tennis, rowing and many others.
Shoulder exercises
Extend your arm to the side and speed up the rotation. This exercise can relieve shoulder pain, and you will feel a real effect all the way down to your neck. The only thing that is true in all exercises is that in order to speed up the gyroscopic trainer and maintain the rotation speed, you must feel the ball.
This helps a lot with concentration and you will improve your body's sense of self.
Look video about the simulator:
Tunnel syndrome or carpal tunnel syndrome is pain in the hands, especially in the right hand, caused by prolonged monotonous work.
work which is based on flexion-extension movements of the hand.
The carpal tunnel (tunnel) is very narrow; the median nerve and 9 tendons of the hand muscles pass through it.
The wrist is a relatively small joint around which are concentrated:
- ligaments that connect the bones of the wrist and tendons that connect the muscles.
- forearms with fingers. It is these tendons that, when overstrained, become the cause of carpal tunnel syndrome, which causes pain in the wrist.
The cause of pain in carpal tunnel syndrome is a pinched nerve in the carpal tunnel. Pinching can be caused by swelling of the tendons passing in close proximity to the nerve, as well as swelling of the nerve itself.
The cause of pinching is the constant static load on the same muscles, which can be caused by a large number of monotonous movements (for example, when working with a computer mouse) or an uncomfortable position of the hands while working with the keyboard, in which the wrist is in constant tension.
Embroiderers, hairdressers, drivers, sign language translators, programmers, designers, copywriters, typesetters and other people are susceptible to this occupational disease.
working on a computer.
History of the study of carpal tunnel syndrome
dates back more than 130 years. It began when Paget first described a patient in whom compression of the median nerve in this tunnel developed after a fracture that healed to form excess callus.
How to disassemble and repair a gyroscopic trainer
Gyroscopic trainer
Appearance. A string is wound around the rotor for its initial spin.
Gyroscopic trainer— a sports trainer, the operating principle of which is based on the properties of a biaxial rotary gyroscope.
Purpose
It belongs to the class of hand exercisers, when used, the main load falls on the muscles and joints of the hand. To achieve high degrees of rotation of the gyroscopic simulator rotor, the muscles of the forearm, shoulder and shoulder girdle are used.
To some extent, this simulator can be classified as an entertainment item (toy), due to its rather unusual properties, demonstrating physical laws in the field of classical mechanics.
Design
It is a small spherical object that can be firmly grasped in the palm of your hand and held by the fingers of one hand of an adult. There are also models of exercise equipment for children with smaller dimensions compared to the adult model. There is another type of simulator with two diametrically opposite handles on the sides of the simulator body, which are held with both hands at the same time, like a steering wheel.
The housing contains a gyroscope device. Basically, the body is made of transparent plastic; models with a metal body are less common and are more expensive than plastic ones. As a rule, there is a hole in the housing through which access to the rotor is provided for its initial unwinding. Trainers without an open part of the rotor have small holes for threading a plastic starter in the form of a thin strip with teeth, which spins the rotor using a rack and pinion gear.
The main mass of the simulator is a massive rotor, the axis of which can rotate in a strictly diametrical position along an annular groove inside the body. The rotor, in most cases, consists of a combination of plastic and metal; rotors consisting entirely of metal, as in the case of the body, are found in more expensive models of the simulator.
The ability to disassemble the simulator piece by piece (for example, to clean it) may or may not be present.
Description of parts
- Frame- if it is disassembled, it consists of two halves. Parts of plastic cases are held in place by latches and screws, while parts of metal cases are screwed onto threads. The housing holds the rotor axis in circular groove.
- Rotor- an element that rotates both on its own axis and perpendicular to the plane of rotation of this axis along a circular groove.
- Restriction ring— holds the rotor axis in a strictly diametrical position, preventing it from “crashing” into the circular groove during torsion. This ring rotates with the rotor along a circular groove.
In the simulators, the body of which is made of metal, a pair of replaceable plastic rings are used, which form a circular groove and against which the rotor axis rubs, and therefore there is no advantage in terms of durability over simulators with a plastic body.
As a rule, a replacement set of such rings along with a restrictive ring is included in the metal simulator kit.
Peculiarities
Model with revolution counter
Some simulators are equipped, or can be retrofitted, with an electronic counter that allows you to record the maximum number of revolutions per minute (RPM). revolutions per minute). The current world record - a speed of 16,732 revolutions per minute, was set by the Greek Akis Kritsinelis (Greek Akis Kritsinelis). He also holds the power index record (number of revolutions in 90 seconds), equal to 21,228 revolutions.
There are luminous models of the simulator, on which several LEDs are installed and a dynamo that generates electricity for their operation.
Usage
The exercise machine must be held firmly in your hand during use, as the forces of action will try to deflect it in different directions. Do not allow the machine to fall, especially while it is moving.
First, it is necessary to give the rotor some minimum kinetic moment. This is done by sharply and slidingly touching the protruding part of the rotor with some finger (usually the thumb) in the direction of rotation. To make starting easier, a starter is used in the form of a cord, which is inserted into a small hole in the rotor and wound around it along a groove (like a reel), after which it is pulled out by the remaining part.
When the rotor spins up to 2-3 thousand revolutions per minute, a person holding the machine in his hand can accelerate it to much higher speeds by making circular movements with his hand.
Since frictional force is very important for this effect, the device should never cannot be lubricated. The maximum rotation speed of the rotor is achieved by holding the sphere in your hand and constantly maintaining rotation with the movement of your hand.
